The Hugo Award Nominees

The 2011 nominees are posted. I always like a list like this as much for suggestions of what to read as rewards for what was written: RenovationsSF.

What's the difference between a novella and a novelette? And then there's the short story....

According to the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (via Wikipedia), a novelette is between 7,500 and 17,499 words, and a novella is between 17,500 and 40,000 words. Under those, the short story, and above them, the novel.
